Diagnostic labs and imaging
Advanced diagnostics and expert care, right when you need it.
At Virginia Mason Franciscan Health Emergency & Urgent Care, timely and accurate diagnosis is an important part of high-quality care. On-site services, including lab testing, X-rays and advanced imaging, allow providers to quickly evaluate your condition and determine the appropriate treatment.
Because testing is available within the urgent and emergency care center, most services can be completed on-site without referrals elsewhere. From evaluation to treatment, care is coordinated in one convenient location, available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Labs
VMFH Emergency & Urgent Care provides on-site laboratory testing with advanced equipment to support timely, accurate diagnosis. Rapid in-house testing, including strep, flu, COVID-19, RSV, glucose, urine drug screening and pregnancy (hCG), helps care teams make prompt, informed treatment decisions.
CT scans
A CT scan is an advanced imaging test that uses X-ray technology and computer processing to create detailed images of bones, blood vessels and soft tissues. Compared with standard X-rays, CT imaging provides greater detail and helps providers quickly diagnose injuries, detect internal bleeding or infection and determine the appropriate treatment.
Ultrasound
Ultrasound imaging uses sound waves to produce real-time images of internal structures, allowing providers to safely and efficiently evaluate conditions and support accurate diagnosis and treatment decisions.
EKG
EKG testing helps providers evaluate heart-related symptoms. At VMFH Emergency & Urgent Care, EKGs help identify cardiac conditions, monitor patients with known heart disease and assess those at risk for heart attack. The results guide timely treatment decisions, including whether medication or hospital-level care is needed.
X-ray
X-ray imaging helps evaluate fractures and diagnose other conditions. At VMFH Emergency & Urgent Care, X-rays help providers assess pneumonia and other chest conditions, supporting timely and accurate diagnosis.
COVID-19 testing
If you believe you may need COVID-19 testing, visit any VMFH Emergency & Urgent Care location. No appointment is required. A physician or advanced practice clinician will evaluate your symptoms and determine whether testing is appropriate.
When needed, testing is performed on-site, with timely results to help guide next steps in care. Check with your insurance provider to confirm coverage for COVID-19 testing and treatment, including any cost-sharing.
