When to come
Emergency or urgent care? Now you don’t have to decide.
Choosing appropriate healthcare for yourself or a loved one shouldn’t primarily be a financial decision—especially in moments of physical vulnerability. From flu and COVID testing to CT scans and X-rays, we have you covered at VMFH Emergency & Urgent Care.
We will always be upfront about billing. You’ll only be charged for the level of care you need.
An emergency room (ER) treats illnesses and injuries that require immediate attention, such as chest pain, abdominal pain, dehydration or complex fractures.
Urgent care typically treats acute and chronic illnesses and non-life-threatening injuries, including common colds, flu, strep throat, lacerations and other minor conditions.
No. During your visit, you will be informed and updated about your status as either an emergency or urgent care patient. If your condition requires emergency care, we will require additional acknowledgment before proceeding. This ensures there are no surprises and that you understand all tests and treatments.
For urgent care services at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health Emergency & Urgent Care, being in-network means we have a contract with your insurance company and have agreed on the cost of any service provided to you. Out of network means we do not have a contract with your insurance company, which may result in a different billing rate as determined by your insurance company and benefit plan.
